MEALS

Meals for competing teams and advisors will be provided from Saturday night through Friday evening, with the exception of the following: 

  • Monday, March 18 Dinner (Team Meal with International Ambassador)

  • Wednesday, March 20 Lunch & Dinner

Uber Eats Vouchers

For lunch & dinner on Thursday, March 21, our team will provide Uber Eats vouchers to each team ($40/team member). Any purchases beyond the $40 limit will have to be paid for by the teams themselves.

LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

The first place you should go when you arrive in Vancouver is the Residence Inn by Marriott Vancouver Downtown. It is located in Downtown Vancouver and, depending on traffic, is about a 30-minute drive from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). 

Most teams will have an International Ambassador (IA) meeting you at the airport to welcome your team and help you find your way to the hotel. Please communicate with your IA directly.

Public Transit

The Canada Line should take your team from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Downtown Vancouver in around 20 minutes. From the ​​Yaletown-Roundhouse Station, it’s about a 12-15 minute walk to the hotel.   

Uber & Lyft

Ranges from $30-$90 CAD for rides depending on # of passengers and luxury status. 

Taxi

When you exit the terminal, there’s an area where you have the option to hail a taxi. Price differs based on time and distance and is calculated using a meter.

TECHNOLOGY & SUPPLIES

Teams will be provided with supplies during the during of the case preparation periods:

  • White board markers & erasers

  • Pens & highlighters

  • Scrap paper

  • USB*

*Please bring your own USB-C adapters if required.

Teams must bring their own laptops for use in the breakout rooms or hotel rooms during case preparation periods. During the Monday and Tuesday case preparation time, internet access will be blocked by MAC addresses. Wifi will be available in the hotel during the 24-hour case preparation time.

WEATHER

During the week of competition, the temperature is forecasted from lows of 4-7 degrees Celsius to highs of 9-12 degrees Celsius. Weather conditions at this time of year can range from sunny to isolated showers. Be prepared for some classic Vancouver rain showers during the week of competition, as many of our activities will be outside.  Please pack appropriately.
